QED is looking for junior, intermediate, and senior Field Service Technicians. All candidates with an electrical education will be considered including Journeyman Electricians, Journeyman Winders, Electrical Technologists and Electrical Engineers. The successful candidate must show an interest in or have experience in electrical testing, repair and commissioning of medium-voltage and high-voltage electrical equipment.

1. Junior Electrical Field Service Technician

  • Willing and eagerness to work in a high-paced, supportive environment with an emphasis on safety, learning, and team building.
  • Training or experience in the testing, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems is preferred.
  • Experience of working in industrial facilities and operations is preferred.
  • Hold an electrical based ticket or degree including Journeyman Electrician, Journeyman Winder, Electrical Technologist or Electrical Engineering Degree.
  • Hold a class 5 driver’s license.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess a strong understanding of computer-based software and systems including MS Office (Word, Excel), Adobe Acrobat, etc.
  • Ability to write technically and effectively in order to produce professional level reports.
  • Ability to work flexible hours which include weekends, evenings, and statutory holidays.
  • Willingness to travel and work in remote locations.

2. Intermediate/Senior Electrical Field Service Technician

  • Willing and eagerness to work in a high-paced, supportive environment with an emphasis on safety, learning, and team building.
  • Experience of working in industrial facilities and operations.
  • Commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of electrical apparatus including circuit breakers, transformers, disconnect switches, switchgear, etc.
  • Hold an electrical based ticket or degree including Journeyman Electrician, Journeyman Winder, Electrical Technologist or Electrical Engineering Degree.
  • Hold a class 5 driver’s license. Class 1 driver’s license is an asset.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess a strong understanding of computer-based software and systems including MS Office (Word, Excel), Adobe Acrobat, etc.
